Elective Writing

For students who have a creative mind and a passion for self-expression, Elective Writing offers the opportunity to gain experience in all aspects of writing. The course focuses on building writing habits and behaviors, with the idea that the best thing we can do to become better writers is to write! Topics can be adjusted based on student needs and interests. In the past students have worked on their own fiction books, practiced real world writing, and even used the elective to create their college essays. Students leave Elective Writing with a stronger grasp on the mechanics and rules of writing, an ability to write in multiple registers, and increased resilience as writers in every context.
