The Smith School Parent Speaker Series: Expert Insights for Families

At The Smith School, we are committed to supporting our students and their families beyond the classroom. Each quarter, our Parent Speaker Series brings in an expert from the community—a doctor, neurologist, clinical social worker, researcher, or other specialist—to present on topics that align with the needs and interests of our parent, family, and guardian community. These engaging, interactive, and informative sessions run for an hour and provide valuable insights, resources, and strategies to help families navigate various aspects of their child’s development, education, and well-being. We carefully select each speaker based on relevant topics that will have the most meaningful impact, ensuring that our families feel informed, empowered, and supported.

Recent sessions have covered a range of topics, including Gaming World: The Good, The Bad & The Ugly, School Avoidance and Strategies, Planning, Organizing & ADHD, Neuropsych Evals, and Social Media & Mental Health for Adolescents. These sessions provide parents with practical tools and knowledge to better support their children in today's complex world.
